All paint, coatings, and finishing materials shall be high-grade commercial products of a quality satisfactory to the Owner. The colors shall be in accordance with the Owner's color scheme. The Builder shall prepare and submit for approval, a painting and decorative schedule which shall include types and colors of coating material including sample of colors (color chips).

coating is application of to protect the underlaying surface such as FBE (Fusion Bonded Epoxy )coating and metal coating and powder coating .

paint通常指狭义上的油漆，一般指液体油漆。
coating范指所有的涂料，液体油漆只是其中之一。还包括水泥敷料，玻璃涂层，橡胶涂层，粉末涂层，热喷金属，电镀，钝化层，阳极处理等等。

Paint:是指涂料,如平常所说的环氧漆、锌粉漆等等，在油漆桶内。
coat：涂层，已经在钢板（包括其他基材）上了，它可以从油漆中来，也可以从其他材料（如金属粉末）成为涂层。另外所说的两涂层（two coating）、三涂层也是这个意思。
