In principle, the longitudinals are to be continuous (passing through)in way of transverse bulkheads with additional strengthening to the bulkheads to provide adequate fixity and contiuity of longitudinal strength.
However, if longitudinals are cut in way of transverse bulkheads,then additional strength compensation are required and to be approved by the Classification.
Also, ship's length, type of ship and the location where the longitudinals are being cut
might also be considered by the Classification.
Anyway, the workers at site should not do as what they like |
