“呆木”就是“大梗”南方的说法,就是fenderbeam
My friend, I don't think so.
“呆木”is not “大梗”in Guangzhou or HK.
“呆木”is "deadwood", similar to the pronunciation of ""deadwood" in HK
In South China, in Cantonese (Guangdong language) "大根", or " 大梗" is " 护舷木" or 护舷材" in madarin. It is "fender" in English. There are also "bow fender", "after fender", "side fender", etc depends on where the fender is fitted.
I have worked in Guangzhou and HK as surveyor for years since 1963 until retired about 10 years ago.
And "弯材" in Cantonese is " 肋骨" in madarin.
It is quite funny in dialect, isn't it?
