先看一下SOLAS对A级分隔的定义：
2. "A" class divisions are those divisions formed by bulkheads and decks which comply with the following criteria: .1. they are constructed of steel or other equivalent material;
.2. they are suitably stiffened;
.3. they are insulated with approved non-combustible materials such that the average temperature of the unexposed side will not rise more than 140°C above the original temperature, nor will the temperature, at any one point, including any joint, rise more than 180°C above the original temperature, within the time listed below:

.4. they are constructed as to be capable of preventing the passage of smoke and flame to the end of the one-hour standard fire test; and
.5. the Administration required a test of a prototype bulkhead or deck in accordance with the Fire Test Procedures Code to ensure that it meets the above requirements for integrity and temperature rise. 首先是钢制或者等效材料，如果不加补板，就需要用等效材料填充。第二是防止烟和火的通过。 所以水密不是对A60的要求，但是A60会有连续的钢制分隔，对于开孔会有形式认可的封堵。
