本人认为,那里肯定要做成一个死舱,没有必要做成活的.第一,里面的空间比较狭小,而且极不规则,做成活的没有意义,没有利用价值;
第二.封死里面应该可以避免检修,防锈的麻烦;
第三.如果里面用沥青填满是不是更好呢?
个人妄言,请不吝赐教!

刚才老总拍板了：空舱。

一般情况下会封死，用沥青或水泥填（个人青睐水泥，价格便宜，而且尾巴上增加点重量有好处），但也有一些大船不填的。

Firstly, I don't know what kind/type of ship you are talking about.

Normally, for a single screw cargo ship, the after part is "after peak tank"(shortly called "APT").

In the lower part of the APT, the propeller shaft passing through stern tube. Outside the stern tube there is a ster boss with shell plating connecting to it.

Looking all the way down to the bottom of APT, the bottom space of the APT is very narrow and no special use. So, usually above the bottom of that space a platform with manhole is fitted to cover it. It is thus a "VOID SPACE" ("空舱) being formed there.

As it is a void space, it is very seldom that one would need to get in there, so adequate derusting and painting (or using tar epoxy) is to be done before welding of the said platform.

be the bottom part of the APT(USING AS FRESH WATER TANK OR BALLAST TANK), then it would be very easy to be corroded and no way to derust and paint. So it is better to make it as a "void space", separating it from APT.
