轴系接地的作用

防止静电对艉轴产生变形及龟裂
1. Silver earth, The shaft grounding assembly, is the system to maintain low voltage between shaft - hull
  during the formers rotation by setting up earth circuit of low resistance between them, thus aiming
  protect propeller shaft from any damage.
  銀接地裝置的軸接地組合, 這系統使車葉軸和船体低阻抗的接地迴路而設計, 軸迴轉中, 軸與
  船体間保持低電壓, 因此, 目的是防止車葉有任何損壞而設計.
2. As shaft rotations, Lub. Oil films are formed at the bearing portions of intermediate shaft holder and
  the electrically insulated status appears between shaft – hull.
  如軸迴轉, 中間軸受等軸承部份潤滑油膜形成, 車葉軸和船体間的電氣絕緣狀態出現.
3. In this status, between propeller of copper-alloy connected to the shaft in seawater and the steel hull
  on which protection anodes are usually fitted, bi-metallic galvanic cell is to be formed, causing a great
  difference in potentials of propeller shaft and hull, due to this galvanic cell, the current flows into such
  places of comparatively smaller electrical resistance as shaft sleeve or main engine crank journal, this
  is considered as one of the main causes of sleeve corrosion and spark erosion at crank journal.

  the shaft – hull voltage, thus making surveillance of the grounding status of shaft grounding assembly
  for an easier maintenance administration, in addition to meter panel, there are provided the brush for
  shaft – hull voltage detection.

来个MAN B&W主机的说明：

A difference in the electrical potential between the hull and the propeller shaft will be generated due to the difference in materials and to the propeller being immersed in sea water.

in some cases, the difference in the electical potential has caused spark erosion on the thrust, main bearings and journals of the crankshaft of the engine.

in order to reduce the electrical potential between the crankshaft and the hull and thus prevent spark erosion, a highly effcient shaftline earthing device must be installed.

轴系接地装置的作用就是轴系运转时，轴其实在油膜中运转，也就是艉轴与船体因油膜而隔离。为了防止轴系与船体之间产生电位差，预防轴系的电位腐蚀，从而保护艉轴系免受腐蚀。
