16.2.13 Aircraft Warning Light The lights for the derrick shall include an aircraft warning light. Aircraft warning light shall be installed at the highest point of the derrick and deck
cranes.
Sun powered lights are preferred.
16.2.15 Obstruction Lights and Fog Horn
A flashing obstruction light system and fog signal horn shall be installed in accordance with the IALA rules and be explosion proof for zone 1 area.
The lighting system shall consist of marine signal lanterns equipped with automatic lamp chargers with non-arching contacts and flashers with synchronous timers, to ensure that all lanterns shall flash in unison in all instances. The lights shall consist of 15 mile range lights operated on AC power. In addition, secondary and auxiliary lights operated with battery backup for four (4) days operation shall be installed.
A main and secondary fog horn shall be installed.
The battery charger shall be capable of supplying the complete DC power for the obstruction lights and fog horns and simultaneously maintain the standby batteries in a fully charged condition.
The battery charger shall be connected to a storage battery bank of sufficient capacity to operate the fog horn and obstruction lights for four (4) days with the
charger off. Navigation lights and fog signal equipment fixtures and controls will be provided by and installed by BUILDER, as specified. Location to be approved by Owner. |
