Cargo Oil Tank Venting System
Individual high velocity pressure/vacuum and purging valve for each pair of tanks shall be provided for each cargo oil or slop tank.
Each riser shall be provided independently. The riser shall be approx. 3.0 meters high above main deck.
Each Vent line shall be designed for loading rate of 600cu.m/h. Each individual pressure vacuum valve of cast iron shall be fitted to each tank.
The high velocity pressure vacuum valve shall be to maintain the inside pressure of each tank within a positive pressure of 0.14kg/sq. cm (about 2 psi) above atmospheric and a negative pressure of 0.035kg/sq. cm (about 1 psi) below atmospheric.

Each cargo tank including slop tank will be provided with continuous local and remote read-out tank level gauge of float type suitable for marine and hazardous locations. Remote read out to be in cargo control room.
Each cargo tank including slop tank will be provided with a float switch to monitor high level condition of the liquid. The system will be an intrinsically-safe type via alarm panel in cargo control room.
Manual tank sounding pipes of 65mm diameter c/w vapour lock valve are to be of perforated type are to be provided at aft end of every centre cargo tank.
