YACHT SURVEYOR/RINA Group.Established in Genova in 1861 by a group of shipowners and underwriters, Registro Italiano Navale 〔RINA) is one of the oldest societies in the world for the classification of merchant ships. Its scope, since then, has been to assess the fitness of ships for their intended trade and service, as a guarantee to interested parties, to safeguard human life at sea and prevent sea pollution. Plan Approval Engineer performs detailed engineering plan review, for compliance with applicable RINA rules, International conventions and contractual requirements, and failure analysis of shipboard mechanical systems including, but not limited to, propulsion systems, gears, compressors, piping systems, boilers and pressure vessels, cranes, etc...;
This position involves conventional engineering practices as well as the resolution of complex issues related to conflicting design requirements, material standards, and coordination of multi-disciplinary activities;
Plan Approval Engineer will closely work with RINA Head Office Plan approval team and with testing surveyors and clients on specific projects.
| 职位要求: | Education and Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering, or equivalent Diploma;
Pronounced technical understanding and familiarity with RINA Class Rules and International Conventions 〔SOLAS, MARPOL etc...);
Experience in ship equipment design and/or maintenance;
Shipyard or operational experience in an engineering function;
Previous professional experiences in Classification Societies would be a strong plus;
At least 3 or 4 years professional experience in similar or related businesses.
Personal skills and abilities:
Team worker, yet also accustomed to working independently and under pressure;
Problem solving and client oriented attitude;
MS office skills;
Good level of technical English, both spoken and written;
Willing to travel frequently. |

Shipbuilding / Marine Surveyor.
Principal tasks:
- Inspection and testing of materials and components for certification, according to Class requirements, International conventions and contractual requirements as well as statutory and special service requirements;
- Carrying out surveys of vessels in service as well as surveillance on newbuildings and ships repairs, testing activity, and certification of marine products and service suppliers;
- Prepare technically accurate and timely Survey reports;
- Coordinating with RINA Head Office for type and components approval.
