Odense Maritime Technology (OMT) was founded in 2010 as a spin-off from Odense Steel Shipyard. Today we employ more than 130 people in ship design, production technique, consultancy services and project management. OMT’s unique strength is based on our technological expertise and experience as well as the high-tech design tools we have at our disposal within ship design and building, enabling OMT to impact the development of new products for ship designs, retrofit of ships, layout of shipyards and production technology. OMT’s team consists of highly qualified naval architects, mechanical engineers, project managers and consultants. A heavy growth over this year is expected.

Effective from 1 December 2013 Grontmij and Odense Marine Technology (OMT) have agreed to transfer all activities and consulting professionals related to Grontmij Marine Consulting business to OMT, which includes staff and design offices in Copenhagen and Shanghai.

Position Available - OMT Shanghai
Odense Maritime Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd experience a continuous increase in the number of assignments within the ship design area, and for that reason we are looking for committed colleagues daring to take on the challenge of international consultancy within the maritime world.
You are:
● Mechanical Engineer with University Degree M.Sc or B.Sc
● Outgoing and open-minded
● Familiar with major companies in the Marine Business and with strong professional network
● A team player but also capable of solving tasks individually.
You have:
● Minimum 5 years relevant experience from design house, class, shipyard or similar
● Experience with all major areas of Mechanical Engineering onboard ships
● Competent knowledge of Class Rules and International Regulations
● Solid experience with Basic Ship Design, Previous experience with Basic design is required
● Experience with AutoCad
● Experience with Microsoft Office Programs
● Good communication skills in English.

Occasionally you will have to participate in technical meetings and some travel activity is to be expected.
