Job Description (Overview, responsibilities etc):
To carry out approval of hull structure plans according to LR's Rules and Regulations, providing guidance to designers and builders to produce cost effective designs that meet the requirements of applicable rules, standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
-To perform assessments and advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters relating to your capability with the assessment of ship structures and authorisations to carry out this work.
-To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format as requested relating to your capability with the assessment of ship structures and authorisations to carry out this work.
-To assess/ recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an internal/external client within an agreed fee/cost structure relating to your capability with the assessment of ship structures and authorisations to carry out this work.
-To discuss/ present the deliverable with the internal/external client and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate relating to your capability with the assessment of ship structures and authorisations to carry out this work.
-Assist in external technical meetings and discussions of technical problems relating to your capability with the assessment of ship structures and authorisations to carry out this work.
-Undertake administration as required in line with Lloyd’s Register processes and procedures.
-To pursue Continuous Personal Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
-To assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal/external client feedback as appropriate.
-To coach other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
-Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
-To assist in internal/external client management as appropriate.
Requirements:
-Bachelor degree majored in naval architecture or other equivalence
-Minimum 5 years working experience in a position of responsibility in the shipbuilding industry and have been involved in the design of ship structures.
-Good command of written and oral English
-Good interpersonal skills

-Self motivated and proactive
-Flexible, keen to learn and develop new skills |
