Ship Design - Mechanical Engineer

Grontmij are continuously expanding our marine business activities and we need new and experienced colleges to join the SEAHORSE design team.

We are currently looking for a experienced Mechanical Engineer
with solid experience and excellent communication skills to join our Shanghai Design Team.

You are:

Mechanical Engineer with University Degree M.Sc or B.Sc
Outgoing and open-minded
Familiar with major players in the Marine Business and preferably with strong professional network
A team player but also capable of solving tasks individually.

You have:

Minimum 5 to 10 years Experience from shipyard, design house, classification society or similar
Experience with all major areas of Mechanical Engineering onboard ships
Competent knowledge of Class Rules and International Regulation
Solid Experience with Basic Ship Design – Propulsion Systems
Experience with AutoCad
Experience with Microsoft Office Programs
Good English communication skills

Occasionally you will have to participate in technical meetings and some travel activity is to be expected.

基本设计，也是需要电气专业编写或者校对电气部分的SPEC的。也需要做电力负荷计算的草稿版呀。

Yes, we also have one position for structure/outfitting guy, 5-10years experience in this area and take the basic design job.

that depents,
it is ok if you have four years work experience just only in basic design area and can make midship section by yourself.
in fact, we focus on the ability.

I'm just have less than three years experience! But i work for an European owenr which is came fromHolland. And also i work together with foreign colleagues.

I have more than 8 year working experience, and most the design experiece is for Crude oil tanker, mainly for machienry and piping part.

I want to kn ow how about the salary level？

这个职位虽然对于一个做基本设计的公司来说不是很核心，但是要求也不会低。
因为在整个中国的办公室只有这么一个职位是为轮机（包括一些电气，因为没有设置电气工程师的职位）部分工作的。那么你的工作就得覆盖很多方面，所有的设备的参数是你给出的，规格书虽然有母型船做参考，但是机电部分你是没有借口推托的，因为出去和船东或者船厂谈的时候，可能就是老板带你一个人。
老板是总体出身的，结构和舾装也懂，查过他的简历，北欧的船厂做过，欧洲的船级社总部做过，也为最大的航运公司做过船东经理。所以在技术上骗他的可能性不大。如果船东问油耗等和你专业有关的问题，那你得自己处理，老板不可能什么都为你挡的，不然就没有必要带上你了。
所以这个职位可能更适合从SDARI或者MARIC等搞过基本设计的公司里出来的人。
现在的为数不多的员工里也有来自SDARI和以前在船级社审图的。
