The foils were submerged always and from which the lifting force obtained under certain high speed,so as to reduce/avoid boat's hull resistance and got higher speed,say 41-42 knots.

Please visit HK and have a look of this type of boat running between HK and Macau.
It covers HK-Macau route in about 60 minutes.

Hydrofoil has foil,jetfoi has foil.
But their foils are different. The foils without flap for hydrofoil are fixed. The foils with moveable flaps for jetfoil are automatically adjustable by a computer for anti-rolling and anti-pitching.
