这个贴不是太华丽,照片不多,但还是有看头,尤其是最后一张照片
首先唠叨唠叨,去google,去勾了下michelle,想找点关于这个船的信息,结果出来第一个是啥,你知道不,竟然是奥巴马大叔 Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama (born January 17, 1964) is the wife of the 44th and incumbent President of the United States, Barack Obama, and is the ...

The Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (RWS) has given SMIT Salvage B.V. the assignment to salvage the wreck of the freighter ’Michelle’. The salvage team is starting today with the salvage operations. The ’Michelle’ sank on 26 August 2005 after a collision with the freighter ’Kiefernwald’.
The wreck lies approximately one hundred kilometres northwest of Den Helder. Initially the partially-floating vessel was situated in the busy traffic route. RWS however had the wreck relocated to the separation zone in between the two shipping lanes in September, thereby limiting the danger to other shipping traffic. Since then, the wreck has sunk and is now marked by buoys.
As of today, the salvage team is on location and has started with the operations. After a diving survey, the ship will be refloated upside-down by means of pressuring the various tanks with compressed air. After the ship has stabilised and is safely afloat, she will be towed back to Rotterdam where she will be righted with the help of floating sheerlegs. The ’Michelle’, now floating normally, will then be towed to a breaker’s yard.
At the end of August 2005, the two freighters collided with each other for reasons yet unknown. The ’Michelle’, a 95-metre-long cargo ship, was on its way from Gdansk to England. The ’Kiefernwald’, which had no cargo on-board, could continue her voyage to Cuxhaven in Germany. The cargo of the ’Michelle’ consisted of coal and does not pose a risk to the environment. The discharge of oil resulting from the collision was limited and could not be counteracted. The oil that remained in the ship has since been extracted at the request of the owner. |
