hi . refer as below :
Basic Requirements
Penetration of cables and multi tube cables must conform to the partition categories (class A or
B) laid down by SOLAS and shall not, in terms of mechanical strength, fire resistance and water
tightness, impair the integrity of bulkheads and decks.
Bulkhead and deck penetrations for cables and multi tube cables are subject to type testing in
accordance with Part 2 of Germanischer Lloyd’s "Test Requirements for Sealing Systems of
Bulkhead and Deck Penetrations" (VI, 7, Chapter 4) and shall be tested also in accordance with
the relevant type approval procedures of the Marine Equipment Directive (MED). The existence

relevant instructions prescribed by manufacturers for installation and application.
In the case of packing and sealing compound systems no more than 40% of the penetration
area should be occupied by cables as well as by multi tube cables.
Where sealing compound systems are employed, the minimum distance to be observed be-
tween adjacent cables/multi tube cables and between the cables/multi tube cables and the
penetration box should be at least 5 mm. |
