Requirements
Doctoral degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace/Civil Engineering or similar at minimum. Doctoral dissertation in the area of CFD or encapsulating the extensive use of CFD is desirable. 2 to 4 years of experience directly related to the development or utilization of CFD packages including but not limited to Star-CD, FLACS, CFX. Experience with CAE/CAD packages such as Solidworks, ICEM-CFD is desirable. A thorough understanding of the fundamentals of fluid mechanics and heat transfer. Strengths in mathematics and mathematical modeling. Proven skill and experience in programming, specifically in the use of macros and scripts to ease data manipulation, processing and presentation. Skills in multiple operating platforms such as Linux, Windows, or Unix A strong interest in Energy business and related applications. Excellent communication and presentation skills with fluency in English. Experience of experimental flow measurement would be desirable. Ability to work individually and as part of a local, multi-local, or remote team. - Willingness to travel occasionally to the US and internationally on projects.
Responsibilities
Supporting the Houston/Epsom CFD Group on CFD projects requiring computer modeling, analysis and interpretation. Pre and post processing of data to support CFD analysis and interpretation. Interfacing with the Atkins Structural, Process and Safety Groups to provide clients with integrated solutions. Interfacing with other Atkins offices to manage or execute CFD projects. Production of high quality technical reports and/or presentations to clients. Support of field testing and flow measurement campaigns. Managing the delivery of CFD projects to schedule, cost and quality. Assisting the CFD group in business development activities, including bid/proposal preparation and client presentations. - Co-Authoring of technical papers for presentation at conferences or publication in peer-reviewed journals
