大宇造船又获4艘滚装船新订单

12月18日，大宇造船与海洋工程公司与意大利Messina集团签订了价值3亿美元的订单合同，该合同是Messina集团在大宇造船订造4艘滚装/集装箱船，将于2011年10月至2013年2月交付。据国际船舶网记者了解，该滚装/集装箱船在该型船舶中是目前世界上最大的，可装载2920TEU以上货物。
由于该型船舶最大吃水为11.5米，所以能满足非洲港口的浅吃水要求，而非洲港口是Messina集团主要业务区域，目前未有大型集装船船在非洲港口处理业务。据Messina集团负责人介绍，订造的这4艘船舶将服务于地中海—西非航线以及红海、东非和南非的路线。

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has secured a $300 million shipbuilding order from Italy. Under the deal, the company will build four roro container ships for Ignazio Messina scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2013, DSME said Thursday.

 ``Our corporate focus on special purpose vessels has paid off. We expect the global shipbuilding market to further improve in 2010 considering the steadily rising demand for ships,'' Hwang Tae-jin, a senior executive, said. ``The Italian company is in the process of swapping out older vessels for new ones, which is good news for us to try and strike fresh deals,'' according to the executive.

 Thanks to the contract, Daewoo has increased its orders for special purpose vessels to $750 million this month alone, a company spokesman said. Earlier, it won an estimated $450 million ship order from German utility firm RWE for two vessels designed to set up offshore wind power facilities. According to Daewoo officials, the company is also engaged in final negotiations for a $2.5 billion order by the end of this year.
