This Rule Note contains the requirements for the determination of the hull scantlings and structure arrangement applicable to cargo ships with length less than 65 m and non-cargo ships with length less than 90 m, built in steel, aluminum, or composite materials. For the purpose of NR600, cargo ships are defines as ships carrying cargoes, having a dead weight greater than 30% of the total displacement, fitted with cargo holds, tanks and ballast tanks and a value of the block coefficient greater than 0,75.
