Responsibilities:
1.
To provide sound technical advice to solve technical issues which arise with Non-destructive Examination (NDE) of materials, equipment and components.
2.
Assist with investigations by carrying out NDE inspections of materials, components including failure investigations.
3.
To assist the surveyors with routine technical queries and interpretation of the Rules relating to NDE.
4.
Providing advice to help resolve internal or external complaints.
5.
Providing technical training in NDE on formal courses or by on the job training of surveyors.
6.
Advising on acceptability of NDE procedures, techniques and operator qualifications for marine applications.
7.
To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of up-to-date industry knowledge and awareness.
Requirements:
1.
Bachelor degree in relative background
2.
Level III in the major NDE methods (e.g. MPI, DPI, RT, UT).
3.
Retention of Level II practical qualifications.
4.
At least 5 years experience gained by practical NDE of materials and components.
5.
Good knowledge and understanding or materials, components and welding.
6.
A chartered engineer or working towards chartered engineer status.
7.
Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
8.
Proficiency in the English language (including technical English).
