some thinkings about LNG in China

it is not surprising for this news that several shipyards start to fire for LNG fabrication. China is hungry with LNG. You know each time i attended the conference about LNG most of the speakers would mention the China LNG market independently. Additionally, the government starts to pay attention to LNG field including engineering(i am not sure MARIC have their own design for LNG carrier with Membrane hopefully they have probably cooperation with universities), fabrication(till now, HuDong have a lot of experiences on LNG carriers with Membrane but do not forget JiangNan which have built several LNG carriers with independent tanks).....
In my opinion, it is not good news that just one shipyard can build the LNG carriers in China and get more shipyards involve the LNG carrier fabrication but the point is that each shipyard should focus on each kind of LNG carriers(MOSS, SPB, Membrane and small LNG carrier with IGC Type C tank). For example, also the future pictures I want see:
      1. HuDong----Membrane(have built 4 Membrane LNG carriers)
      2. JiangNan----Small LNG carrier with IGC Type C tank(have experience)
      3. DaLian Zhonggong----SPB (near Japan try to get licence from IHI)
      4. WaiGaoQiao----MOSS (quite close with Europe companies)
      5. COSCO(NanTong)----LNG FPSO(hopefully this can happen in the future)
There are some suggestions:
      1. HuDong should get more Membrane orders to strengen their advantages. I just got the news several days ago that HuDong will be awarded to build 6th Membrane carrier. I think the government do the right thing. If other shipyards to build this kind of LNG carrier maybe cause some resource wasted.
      2. MARIC should try their best to improve the designs for LNG carriers. It is said that HuDong bought the design for Membrane LNG carrier with 147,000 cbm from Europe Company. This design is quite old and we need to improve it according to some experts who involved these projects then come out our own design. In this term, MARIC is good choice to handle on it.
      3. Kick start on LNG FPSO which i really want to see since i am working on it. Try to do some conceptual design on it and cooerate with Class to get the FEED for that. It is still long way to go. But i totally believe that this can happen in the future. GO GO GO China!

you write all this by yourself??woo! you are brilliant,and i think you got the point of LNG shipbuilding of china! you also draw a picture of the future ! hope it will come ture.

Yes. Just some opinions. Can not say to be brilliant.
i am working oversea but quite concern about our Zhongguo LNG development.
so we need to work hard and make it happen in the future

It   is   DALIAN   SHIPBUILDING  INDUSTRY.    Not   DaLian Zhonggong  .

You are right. If they want to sell us the technology, not the advanced technology. But I think it is ok us in this stage. The important point is that we should develop our technology when we are using other technology. And our government are trying their best to do that. good news for us!
