Two Ph.D. student positions with full financial support are available in the research group of Prof. Xiaochuan(Vincent) Yu at the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, University of New Orleans. Prospective students with a M.S or B.S. degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and other related majors are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will work on one of the following areas· ship/offshore platforms motions and responses, ship maneuvering· offshore wind turbine and study on various wave energy converters· cable dynamics (mooring, riser, pipeline, etc.)· FEM analysis of ship and offshore structures· smart structures, etc. GRE and TOFEL scores are required in the application.
