Design Engineer
Mission:
Provides “up to date” engineering advice and support to Transport, Installation Engineering, Projects and Sales.
Responsibilities:
Impact on Business:
• Answers enquiries or contracts through collection, analysis and use of all necessary information needed for a successful process.
• After discussion with Transport Engineering prepare and design set-up of less complex CAD drawing using work instruction.
• Prepares drawings and has documents checked and approved by Senior Design Engineer or Lead Design Engineer.
• Follow department related processes and procedure.
Internal & External Customers/Suppliers as well as Third Parties:
• Gives support to other disciplines by using drawings, using industry standard and internal software.
Innovation and Change:
• Assists in the development and improvement of drafting procedures, standard, work flow and tools (Microstation and Projectwise).
• Gives support to contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the business processes with required tools (Microstation and Projectwise).
Requirements:
Educational Background:
• College degree or above in ocean engineering, ship structural or relevant fields.
Professional Knowledge:
• Relevant Experience in the offshore structural design/drafting field.
• Familiar with the design of at least one of the three offshore platforms: Jacket, Semi-submersible and Jackup.
Other skills:
• MS Office.
• Project management.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or Microstation drawing software (English version) and related office software
• Fluent in Mandarin and English, both verbally and in writing.
