Design Engineer
Mission:
Supports structural, marine and transport engineers in drafting for offshore, transport and installation projects. Provides “up to date” engineering advice and support to Transport, Installation Engineering, Projects and Sales.
Responsibilities:
Impact on Business:
• Provides drafting support to design engineers including structural, marine and transport engineers.
• Communicates with design engineers about the drafting requirements.
• Works closely with the design engineers to work out the drawings for all kinds of offshore, transport and installation projects.
• Answers enquiries or contracts through collection, analysis and use of all necessary information needed for a successful process.
• Prepares drawings and has documents checked and approved.
Internal & External Customers/Suppliers as well as Third Parties:
• Gives support to other disciplines by using drawings, using industry standard and internal software.
• Offers (un)requested advice to ensure a safe and successful project execution.
Innovation and Change:
• Assists in the development and improvement of drafting procedures, standard, work flow and tools (Microstation and Projectwise).
• Gives support to contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the business processes with required tools (Microstation and Projectwise).
Requirements:
Educational Background:
College degree or above in ocean engineering, ship structural or relevant fields.
Professional Knowledge:
• Relevant Experience in the offshore structural design/drafting field.
• Familiar with the design of at least one of the three offshore platforms: Jacket, Semi-submersible and Jackup.
Other skills:
• MS Office.
• Project management.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or Microstation drawing software (English version) and related office software

Lead Structural Engineer
Mission:
Provide “up-to-date” engineering solutions and support to Transport, Installation Engineering, Projects and Sales. Focus is on planning resources, group development, quality control and execution of the work.
Responsibilities:
Impact on Business:
• Be responsible for follow up of workflow, planning and hour registration of department members, holiday planning and days off.
• Contribute actively in the quality control within the Structural Engineering Department.
• Evaluate and advise on inquiries needed for a successful tender process or project.
• Follow department related processes and procedures.
Internal & External Customers/Suppliers as well as Third Parties:
• Provide engineering advice and support to other disciplines as well as external parties, using industry standard.
• Provide internal coordination for work distribution and arrangement.
Innovation and Change:
• Give support with development, implementation and maintenance of business processes.
• Initiate in the development and improvement of Structural Engineering methods, tools and equipment.
People Leadership:
• Guide and develop Structural Engineers (Junior/Senior/Principal/Specialist).
• Arrange regular team meetings.
• Be responsible for resource allocation and management.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
• Higher Professional Education or University Degree (Bachelor or higher) in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Aerospace Engineering or Civil Engineering (Steel). At least 7 years relevant working experience in ship/offshore structural engineering.
Professional Knowledge:
• Solid theoretical background and engineering practical experience.
• Intercultural Awareness.
• Cost-conscious/-minded.
• General organizational knowledge applied to Dockwise.
• Experience with motivating, guiding and coaching others within own field of work.
Other skills:
• English Language (fluent both written and spoken)
• Task supporting software; broad experience with FE software (like Fmap, ANSYS, NASTRAN, SACS, MATHCAD or equivalent)
• MS Office, MS Project and experience data sharing portals (like SharePoint)
