A newbuilding contract between China’s Jiangzhou Union Shipbuilding and a Hong Kong-based shipowner to build one 12,500DWT multipurpose vessel with an option for one more is said to have taken effect recently.
The vessel, which is able to operate in 15.1 knots, is in 144.7m of length, 22.8m of breadth with 11.3m of height and designed draft of 7.5m. Moreover, the MPP is scheduled to be classified by Germanischer Lloyd (GL).
Meanwhile, Jiangzhou Union’s orderbook stands at more or less 10 vessels and the company already delivered a 14,000DWT crane ship this year.
