3. MAJ shipyard of Croatia has signed a letter of intent to build six crude and product carriers with Sweden's Wisby Tankers.
On the day of the delivery of the last series of four 15,000-dwt asphalt/bitumen tankers, both parties signed the LOI for additional newbuilding sextet.
Meanwhile, Wisby is said to be in discussion whether to exercise options for two additional 30,000-dwt tankers at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Korea.
Sources said that the owner placed a firm order for two same-size ships in April of last year at the Korean yard for delivery in 2013, with an option for two more newbuildings slated for delivery in 2014.
