MARPOL ANNEX IV Regulation 1
3. Sewage 生活污水(定义)：
.1 drainage and other wastes from any form of toilets and urinals; 任何型式的厕所和小便池的排出物和其他废弃物 （船上一般习惯称呼为黑水，而一般房间的洗池等排出的水对应成为灰水）
.2 drainage from medical premises (dispensary, sick bay, etc.) via wash basins, wash tubs and scuppers located in such premises; 医务室（药房、病房等）的面盆、洗澡盆和这些处所排水孔的排出物
.3 drainage from spaces containing living animals; 装有活畜禽货的处所的排出物
.4 other waste waters when mixed with the drainages defined above. 混有上述排出物的其他废水。
MARPOL ANNEX IV Regulation 9
Sewage Systems
1 Every ship which, in accordance with regulation 2, is required to comply with the provisi*** of this Annex shall be equipped with one of the following sewage systems:
.1 a sewage treatment plant which shall be of a type approved by the Administration, taking into account the standards and test methods developed by the Organization* 生活污水处理装置, or
.2 a sewage comminuting and disinfecting system approved by the Administration. Such system shall be fitted with facilities to the satisfaction of the Administration, for the temporary storage of sewage when the ship is less than 3 nautical miles from the nearest land 生活污水粉碎和消毒系统, or
.3 a holding tank of the capacity to the satisfaction of the Administration for the retention of all sewage, having regard to the operation of the ship, the number of pers*** on board and other relevant factors. The holding tank shall be c***tructed to the satisfaction of the Administration and shall have a means to indicate visually the amount of its contents 集污舱.
三选一，而不是全部配备。
MARPOL IV 要求的上述生活污水必须经过处理才能排舷外或者储存在污水舱内排岸！
