MARINE DEPARTMENT The marine department provide ship design for almost all ship types and covers all aspects of modern ship design, including general ship design, structural design, stability and safety aspects, hull and propulsion optimisation, machinery, vibration and noise analyses, etc. in accordance with classification rules and flag state requirements. Head office of Marine department is located in Copenhagen with branch offices in Odense and Shanghai. It is important for us to be close to the European ship owners as well as close to the ship building industry in Asia. More than 250 newbuildings and more than 100 conversi*** have been built according to our design.
Position Available in Shanghai: Ship Design - Naval Architect - Outfitting Designer
Grontmij are continuously expanding our marine business activities and we need new and experienced colleges to join our design team.
We are currently hiring experienced Outfitting Designer with solid experience and excellent communication skills to join our Shanghai Design Team.
You are: - Naval Architect with University Degree M.Sc or B.Sc
· Familiar with major companies in the Marine Business and with strong professional network - A team player but also capable of solving tasks individually.
- Outgoing and open-minded
You have: · Minimum 5 years relevant experience from design house, class, shipyard or similar - Experience with all major areas of Naval architecture
- Competent knowledge of Class Rules and International Regulati***
- Solid experience with Ship Design, Previous experience with Basic design is required
- Knowledge of Class Rule Calculation Software
- Experience with AutoCad
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs

Occasionally you will have to participate in technical meetings and some travel activity is to be expected.
