Seadrill to Construct Jackup for Use on the NCS
Mar. 2011 - Seadrill has entered into an agreement with Jurong Shipyard for the construction of a new jackup drilling rig. The rig is scheduled for completion at the end of the third quarter 2013 and total project price is estimated at US $530 million, including project management, drilling and handling tools, spares and capitalized interests. The rig has been contracted to ConocoPhillips for a five year period on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The contract is subject to Norwegian Government approval of the Plan for Development and Operations for Ekofisk South and Eldfisk II. The Ekofisk center is located on Blocks 2/4 and 2/7 about 200 miles (322 kilometers) southwest of Stavanger. The complex is operated by ConocoPhillips. |
