Blast Wall / Fire Barrier
A blast wall shall be provided to separate the process areas from the utilities
area and Living Quarters. This blast wall shall be provided to prevent fire
spread between the areas, and assist in maintaining an area of refuge for
FPSO personnel. The wall shall be designed to withstand a blast
overpressure profile to be based on the results of CFD blast analysis (to be
carried out during preliminary engineering). The fire rating shall be
determined by the Fire and Explosion Risk Assesment (Ref 5) and shall
protect against “jet” fires for a minimum of 15 minutes (a fire rated coating
will be used). Refer to the FERA study for additional information. |
