药皮 ----- "electrode coating" or "welding rod coating" or "welding coating"

The concept is different.
The composition material which covered the welding rod( electrode) is called "welding rod coating" or "electrode coating".

The welding rod coating which melt during welding and covered the welding seam is called "welding slag". The welding slag is to be chipped away for job completion by welder.

The chief of the welder team,inspector and ship surveyor will check if it is done or not.
