有一個男人一生工作並且存下所有的錢，只要談到錢，他就很吝嗇。
Therewas a man who had worked all of his life, had saved all of his money, and was areal miser when it came to his money.
他要死時，向他太太說：「我死時，要把我所有的錢和我一起放進棺材，我要把錢帶到我死後的生命去。」
Justbefore he died, he said to his wife, 'When I die, I want you to take all mymoney and put it in the casket with me. I want to take my money to the'after-life' with me.'
他得到太太全心的的承諾，他死後，她將把所有的錢放進棺材。
Andso he got his wife to promise him with all of her heart that when he died, shewould put all of the money in the casket with him.
他死了，伸展著身子躺在棺材內，他太太穿著黑衣服坐在那裡，她的朋友也坐在她旁邊，當完成了儀式後，在辦理喪葬的人要蓋上棺材時，她說：「等一下…」
Well,he died…. He was stretched out in the casket, his wifewas sitting there in black, and her friend was sitting next to her. When theyfinished the ceremony, just before the undertakers got ready to close thecasket, the wife said, 'Wait, just a minute!'
她帶著一個盒子，並且將它放進棺材中。
Shehad a box with her, she came over with the box and put it in the casket.
然後辦喪事的人將棺材封起來推走。
Thenthe undertakers locked the casket down, and they rolled it away.
她的朋友說：「我知道妳不會笨到把所有的錢都放進去棺材與妳的先生一起吧！」
Herfriend said, 'I know you weren't fool enough to put all that money in there inthe casket with your husband!'
這位忠誠的妻子說：「我不可以不遵守我的話啊！我答應了他，要將所有的錢跟他一起放進棺材。」
Theloyal wife replied, 'Listen, I can't go back on my word. I promised him that Iwas going to put that money in that casket with him.'
「妳是說妳真的把所有的錢跟他一起放進棺材嗎？」
'Youmean to tell me you put that money in the casket with him !?'
那太太說：「是啊，我確實這樣做了，我把所有的錢存進我的帳戶，並且開了一張支票給他，只要他去兌領他就可以用了。」
'Isure did,' said the wife. 'I got all the money together, put it into my accountand wrote him a cheque. If he can cash it, he can spend it.'
