Alewijnse Marine Systems has won a service and maintenance contract for M3nergy’s 94,000 DWT FPSO Perintis, three weeks before it officially announces the setting up of two new Asian hubs, in Malaysia and Singapore. Under the agreement Alewijnse will be responsible for a substantial part of the electrical maintenance work planned for the FPSO Perintis which is currently berthed at Johor Port, Malaysia. During the project Alewijnse Marine Malaysia will work alongside partner Willtech Asia, a leading expert in mechanical engineering. The project is scheduled to take just forty-five days. Alewijnse will officially launch its new Malaysia and Singapore suBSIdiaries next month at the Asia Pacific Maritime Exhibition taking place at Marina Bay Sands (19-21 March 2014) in Singapore. This contract with M3energy represents a flying start for the new ventures. “To win the contract for the service and maintenance on this sophisticated vessel is a valuable vote of confidence in Alewijnse and its capabilities,” said Alewijnse Marine Rotterdam Managing Director, Ben Bonte. “This significant order highlights the expertise of Alewijnse in the service and maintenance of offshore installations.
