1、  Tao

Tao can be called Tao, but not necessarily called Tao.

Tao can be named as Tao, but not necessarily named as Tao.

The nameless Tao creates Heaven and Earth,

The named (heaven & earth) gives birth to the myriads.

Be desireless when practice Tao to achieve internal peace, thus to observe the mystery of Tao.

If desiring when practice Tao, your mind is not peaceful, thus only limited mystery can be    observed.

Although both practice Tao (desireless & desiring), the results are totally different.

Both say Tao is mysterious.

Revolving by revolving, the gateway to Tao can be reached.

Countless mysterious gateways to Tao exist. Only with diligent practice, you are able to enter it.

2、
Practising Tao

Scholars should expand  knowledge daily.
It is better for those who practise Tao to possess less knowledge of Qigong.
Less knowledge of Qigong is good but not good enough.
Zero possession of such knowledge is the best.
Initially you know nothing about Tao. After practicing you will eventually know everything.
If you intend to possess the world,
you should not always resort to force.
If considering using force too often, you are unable to govern the country.
First, you can not win the world. Second, you will still lose it quickly even though you can get it.

3、
Tao of Heaven

Knowing the world without leaving room.
Observing the Great Tao not necessarily through the window.
The further you travel,
the less you know.
Therefore, the Sage knows everything without going out.
He can name object without seeing it.
He can gain success without actual involvement.

4、
Governing the Country

Those who were skillful in governing the country in ancient times,

were all practisers of  Tao.

Not attaching importance to the degree of people's wisdom.

Rather dispelling the darkness of their unwisdom.

The reason why people are difficult to manage

is because too many governors impose their will on people.

Thus if you rule a country using your own knowledge,

many robbers will appear in your country.

If you rule the country using the masses' wisdom instead of your own knowledge,

the country will prosper.

By understanding the above two Tao in governing the country,

you know the norm.

Applying this norm frequently to governing the country

is called Mysterious Virtue.

Mysterious Virtue means that you should have strong feeling of the people as well as clear vision for the country.

It also means that you should have clear picture of every opposite side.

Then governing the country will be extremely smooth.

5、
No  boasting

It is the best not to boast yourself even if  you know.
It is a disease to boast when you do not know.
Only to realize that boasting is a kind of disease
can help you become immune to it.
The reason why the Sage is immune to this disease
is because he knows that boasting is a disease.
Thus he never catches it.

6、
Cooking Dish

Governing a large country is similar to cooking dish.
The key point is to spread Tao throughout the country.
Thus, deity can be distinguished from devil.
It is not true that devil does not want to be deity.
It is because deity does not hurt the people.
However, it is also not true that deity absolutely does not hurt any person.
The Sage does not hurt the people as well.
These two (deity & the Sage) do not hurt each other either.
Therefore virtue is consigned to this country.

7、
Knowing others

He who knows others is wise.
He who knows himself is sensible.
He who conquers others is strong.
He who conquers himself is mighty.
He who knows contentment is wealthy.
He who perseveres is a strong-minded.
Those who never breaches duty is persistent.
Those whose soul remains after death is longevous.
