Oh, It is a pity I heared this story, I just counsel to you that you should relaxing and calming down. the insulting sentence from the owner maybe reasonable, you can ask him for some opinion and try to find the existing problem of your shipyard and you. As I think you are working in a shipyard as a QA or QC, When I had been working as a representative of owner I found some QA was not work hard, e.g. when I asked him 'when will the block start fabrication', he said he don't know, when I query him another things he took charge also 'I don't know.' he even do not know change it to "I have no idea". But the differentness between me and the owner you talked about is that I never insulted anybody and any shipyard. In my opinion you just keep silent for opposing him.
So, I just declare that the words I wrote down is not target all the QA and you, I just remind the people who should change the way of working. 'I don't know' can not be the solution of any problem.

you are a real good guy, i had never been a QA or QC, if the owner say anything you don't understand or you real don't know, never say 'i don't know', you could say 'i will check it later', or write down and say 'i will give you the answer later'. to be a new guy in a yard, the main works for you are listen and look, than ask and thinking. that's why somebody can upgrade and others keep original. you shouldn't sgare say somthing wrong just like me. you can find many wrong words or grammar in this massange, that's nothing! the important thing is i can write down and you can understant!

My friend, Thanks for your comments of my erroneous grammar and words, at the begining I thought you should have a good command of English skill due to your reminding, but I even found the grammar mistake of your first sentence, "real" should be instead of adv. "really". do you realize? so, next time you should to look into the mirror before you going to make any critical words.
