first,tell him frankly that things changed .
u can tell him your present work make you satisfied and the work need u .u can not leave the present work
know what he want to get from u . if u can not make the work he want , he will drop u /

second, u recommend somebody to him.
u also can say some other reason like health and your family's advice and so on.
