Curve View Tree

The Tree Bar holds tree bar contains two trees - the Curve View tree and the Patch View tree. It can be docked against any of the four edges of the main application window in the same way that toolbars can. It is picked up and dragged around using the double 'gripper' lines (at the left-hand end of bar in the above diagram). It can also be floated by dragging it sufficiently far away from an edge where it is docked.

The Tree Bar can be toggled on/off via the menu item, VIEW \ TREE. The tree can be refreshed at any time by selecting the menu item, VIEW \ REFRESH TREE or pressing the <F5> key.

Tree items representing individual curve objects are referred to as curve nodes. Curve objects are grouped in the tree according to their type (Boundaries, Sections, Waterlines etc.). The tree items with these names are referred to as group nodes. The node at the top of the tree has the name Ship and is referred to as the root node.

Making a selection in the tree is simply made by clicking on a curve node with the left mouse button. Extended selections can be achieved using the <Shift> and <Ctrl> keys.

The state of each curve object is indicated by a lightbulb icon:

• - curve inactive and hidden
• - curve inactive and displayed
• - curve active and displayed
• - curve active and hidden

Clicking on the light bulb image next to an object, simply toggles the status between two states, and . If the current status is either or the resulting sate will be or respectively.

The Curve View tree can be used to set various curve options via popup menus. These are launched by selecting a tree item with the left mouse button, then clicking the right mouse button.
