of the weld to obtain sound metal before applying subsequent beads for all full penetration welds.
Carbon built-up shall be kept at minimum in the use of arc-air gouging.

小弟前来一试，献丑了。

在给全融透焊缝涂玻璃粉之前应该用修琢，打磨，电弧气吹铲平或者其他的合适的方法处理一下焊缝的根部或者下侧以得到优质钢。在用电弧气吹铲平的时候积碳应该保持在最少量。

请高手指教。

CHIPPING-----指用尖头或扁头鎚子去敲铲

SOUND METAL---在这里应理解为“坚实母体金属” （被焊的构件称为“母体”或“母材”），“SOUND METAL”在这里非解为“优质钢”。

GOUGING----- 指“抠铲”,去“抠掉”，不一定是“铲平”

BEADS--- 在这里，"BEADS" 是指“焊缝”，“焊道”（通常指短焊缝，间断焊缝），非“玻璃粉”。
