I think firstly we should know the principle and function of "top-bracing" fitted for diesel engine installed on board a ship. Otherwise, we would be unable to give it an correct term in Chinese,but just “柴油机上拉条, 顶拉条, 顶撑”。I would suggest to give it a Chinese term:
"柴油机防震减震上拉条 "

or
"柴油机防震减震顶拉条"

or
"柴油机防震减震顶撑”。

As far as I know, the friction type top-bracing is a type of mechanical top-bracing.In addition, there is hydraulic type top-bracing such as MAN B&W developed for their marine diesel engines.
