POSITION:
Machinery Surveyor
Main Functions:
1.
Assure that the design and quality of all systems, machinery & machinery equipment are as described in the Specification, maker recommendations and other documents/standards for the project.
2.
Assure that all above equipment are installed according to the best International shipbuilding standard, approved drawings, maker recommendations and fulfilling Class requirements.
3.
Confirm that all equipment are inspected and tested in a way so that the Specification and makers recommendations are met to the fullest extent.
4.
Document progress in approved formats.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1.
To examine & familiarize himselves with the Specification, standards, Class rules and maker instructions.
2.
Comment on drawings and diagrams as directed. Make necessary corrections after confirmation by the site manager.
3.
To check all machinery equipment on arrival to the building yard for damages. Collect data of such equipment and confirm that it is correct and in compliance with the Specification, makers instruction and other documents issued. Keep a log of all machinery arrived in the building yard together with the Purchaser/Storekeeper.
4.
To supervise and approve pipelines flushing procedure for every system according Class requirements, maker recommendations or other applicable standards.
5.
To follow up & monitor the installation progress daily on board the ship(s) of all pipe systems and their support’s, machinery equipment and their support’s and confirm that all are done according to the Specification, Class requirements, makers recommendation and approved drawings.
6.
To check that all machinery installations on board are done in such a way that ease of maintenance are obtained.
7.
To familiarize with the relative parameters of all machinery equipment, and prepare the fullest technical document and files for each item test.
8.
To attend shop tests & courses at makers as directed by site manager. To assist Site Manager to keep track of upcoming FAT/shoptest.
9.
To attend inspections and test as scheduled by the yard’s QA department. Including HAT and SAT.
10.
To act as an instructor on machinery equipment for the ship’s staff upon their arrival at the building yard.
11.
To assist the ship’s staff to clarify all manuals, final drawings, spare parts, material, etc.
12.
To keep a daily log of all activities going on regarding the machinery installations on the ship. Submit weekly reports and summary reports for each ship in writing to the site manager. Submit non-conformance reports to Site manager on standard forms.
13.
To participate in meetings with the Building Yard, Class and Suppliers of equipment as directed by the Site Manager.
14.
To supervise shipyard to carry out safety rules for workers and relative equipments involved to our project, also check shipyard environment for safety and pollution protection periodically.
15.
To complete unspecified assignments and projects as directed by the Site Manager.
16.
To assist shipyard strength the management of the subcontractor.
17.
To seek and maintain good relationship with the Building Yard’s Personnel, Class, Suppliers and others involved in the shipbuilding project.
18.
Assist manage site office documents and files.
19.
To keep all equipment certificates in order and tidy, transfer them to ship’s staff before delivery.
20.
To assist colleagues and cover up for them when ever necessary.
21.
To work in a team spirit, with full cooperation with other members of the Site staff and in an understanding of all activities to be performed at the building site for a successful completion of the project. |
